World Taekwondo (WT) Tournament Referee
A referee is the person of authority in taekwondo who is responsible for presiding over the match from a neutral point of view and making on-the-fly decisions that enforce the rules of the sport, including sportsmanship decisions such as ejection. The referee is also in charge of stopping fights when a fighter cannot intelligently defend himself in order to prevent him from incurring further damage.
The referee shall declare competition commands, winner and loser, deduction of points ( 감점 gamjeom ), warnings ( 경 고 gyeong-go ) and retiring. All the referees’ declarations shall be made after the results are confirmed.
